read-only problems

I can't seem to turn off the read-only attribute.
The "obvious" way (going through "properties") isn't
working -- it's not allowing me to change it. It does
say the CD-RW disk I have in is "read-only" also, not
just my file.

Can someone give me some insight on this?

Thanks,
Shannon

Hi,

You can`t change attributes on CD`s, even a CD-RW, you
need to copy the file to the hard drive, then do the
changes you want. Depending on the software you are
using, you can then transfer it back to the CD-RW. Most
drag-to-disc works that way I believe.

The inbuilt burning of XP is not really a CD-RW style. It burns files
in batches as sessions, as for a CD-R, they cannot be individually
updated or deleted - all you can do is erase the disk as a whole. They
are intrinsically read only and marked as such. If you want a true
'like a floppy' use for CD-RW you will need a third party Packet writing
package - see more at http://aumha.org/win5/a/xpcd.htm

I'm having same problem. On a Limited User Account, the
attribute "read only" is checked and will not stay
unchecked.
