Read only file

I don't even know where to begin! I am trying to copy
some files to a CD. There is already a file located in
my CD Burning folder. I am unable to delete this
folder. When I try write files to CD, I am unable to
choose everything BUT this file, but this particular file
gives me a message that it is read only. When trying to
change FROM read only in properties, I get a message that
the attributes cannot be applied to the subfolder, nor am
I able to delete the folder or subfiles manually, because
the attributes cannot be applied. I feel like I am at a
dead end. In the meantime, I cannot burn any CD's. What
can I do?

I'm only a novice but have been able to delete undeletable files by booting
a win98 rescue disk, use dos to delete the file. Won't work if your hard
drive is other than fat32.

add password. any file will ask for the password to be
opened

There's probably a way to clear the repository of everything and
start again.
The better solution is to download Nero or one of the other
burning apps and use that. Much better than XP's
built-in.
