Read only error

I have a split database. I have 4 different locations linked to the back
end; each with a sperate front end stored on their hard drive. When more
than one locations attempts to add records it gives a read only error. I
have set the tables options to shared, but still no help. Funny thing...it
only giving this read only error on a lookup field based off a linked table
from a third database.

I don't know if this would help you any or not, but I do know that the folder
the BE is in cannot be read only and each user must have read, modify, write
priviledges to that folder. Additionally, that folder must be large enough in
size for Access to make temp files when it needs them. Also could it be
possible that the file on the 3rd database is read only?

I think I may have given other users only read access to that 3rd database.
They only use linked table of that 3rd db for for lookup field. Will see if
that solves my problem.
