read-only documents/will not unset

Please help me!
I have tried to unset the read-only setting from my
documents (which I never locked to begin with) but going
to properties and unchecking the box does not work. What
else can i do?

If your documents are on a CD, you won't be able to remove the read-only
attribute... copy them to your hard drive, edit them there, and then use the
CD creation software to copy the files back to the CD if desired. If the
files are on your hard drive, try using Windows Explorer to remove the
read-only attribute. If the files are on a network, you'll have to talk to
your network admin people about permissions. This could have been a much
shorter answer if you included more details about the problem.
