re -word 2003 text boxes

hi i have created a text box and now want to uncreate it but without deleting
the text within it how do i do this
 
Select & cut/copy the text in the box, then paste the text elsewhere &
delete the text box... there's no way to just delete the box & have its
content simply "flow" into the main doc.
 
Or convert the text box to a frame and then remove the frame.
