What version of Outlook are you using and what type of mail account do you
have? Are you using a VPN connection to connect into an Exchange server (for
email) in a work environment?
 
Turn off cached mode. If that works, delete your OST file while Outlook is
closed. Open Outlook and test. If that doesn't resolve, follow the steps
below:

Does this problem follow you if you try to log onto another computer? If
not, then recreate your Outlook profile. If that doesn't work, rename your
profile on the PC and re-log in. See if that resolves the problem.

This solution worked for me, turning off cached mode, renaming the OST
and resetting up cached mode. Thanks K. Orland
