Perhaps you could enlighten us as to the exact symptoms of the problem.

Every few days when I click on my created shortcuts, the shortcut just disappears. I recreate the shortcuts and they work OK for a day or two and then just disappear again when I click on them. It seems to happen only on shortcuts to another user's shared folder on the Exchange Server 2003. We are using Outlook 2003. This has happened on both computers that I have OL03, Exch03, and shared folders

PLEASE HELP

Thanks

Shortcuts as in the Shortcuts navigation pane? Folders in another user's
mailbox that you've added to your profile?

I've been having this exact same problem - shortcuts to
another users folders, after being added to the shortcut
pane, disappear randomly and have to be re-added. The
other users' folders are still visible and accessible in
the Folder List view. The computer is brand new -
Windows XP Pro, PIV 2.8 Ghz, 512 MB RAM. It was happening
on an old PIII 500 Mhz system with W2K, too. Any help
would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks.

The "username.fav" file is not used at all by Outlook 2003. It was used by previous versions. I have deleted that file altogether and still have the shortcuts disappear. Outlook 2003 uses the file "username.xml" for it's Navigation Pane which includes the shortcuts. I have renamed that file, recreated my shared folder shortcuts, and still they disappear. Still waiting for someone to come up with a solution. Microsoft should reward whoever comes up with the solution.

This is happening particularly with shortcuts to other people's calendars; i don't think the shortcut to my calendar has ever done it.

delete the xml after deleting the fav so it starts fresh.

Is the mailbox in your profile or how and where did you create the shortcut?
If you added the mailbox, created a shortcut then removed the mailbox,
you'll lose the shortcuts to that mailbox.

Outlook Shortcuts disappear! Help!

Hi, im using Outlook 2003 SP1 on an exchange server at work...i had customized my view of outlook using the shortcuts tab at the bottom left pane. this way i could organize and reorder only the folders (including some .pst folders)that i wanted to see.
This worked fine for me for 3 years or so until yesterday AM when i opened outlook and my whole shortcuts pane was gone. i recreated it yesterday and then when i came in this AM i discovered it had been wiped out again. Does anyone have any idea what the problem may be? i checked with our IT folks and they confirmed that there had been no updates to the system or to my PC...and i read somewhere that "special characters" might be the cause but i do not use any of those in my shortcut pane organization...please help!
thanks,
Kate

Our company still uses Outlook 2003 and the Windows XP O/S. I tried to B/U my favorite folders onto a newly installed Laptop HD. Mails and folders all backed up OK, but the Favorite folders still don't show up when booting up on the new HD.

As noted in this older thread above, I cannot find a .FAV file. I don't see favorite folders in any saved XML files.

Did this problem in Outlook 2003 ever get resolved?

Thanks,

GlennR
