When I go to start > All program > Accessories : Notepad which should have
been there has disappeared.
I can go to Notepad from Run command.
Could someone please tell me how Notepad disappeared from Accessories, and
how can I bring Notepad back so that I can access it from Accessories.
Thanks.

Either you can create a new icon or can copy the shortcut from another users
account.

Coping Shortcuts
===========

Right-click on Start - choose Explorer All Users
Here find it in other user's Start Menu - Programs - Accessories (try
Default User)
Right-click on the Notepad's shortcut - choose Copy and within from the same
window goto your setting's folder (e.g. Documents & Settings - Rajiv Kohli -
Start Menu - Accessories) right-click paste.

Otherwise, right-click on Taskbar - choose Properties
Click Start Menu tab
If using "Start Menu" style not "Classic Start Menu" then choose Classic
Start Menu and then click Customize button
Click the Add button
in the path window type Notepad and click next and finish the wizard by
choosing appropriate location for where to put the shortcut. You can also
browse for the Notepad location as you do it using Run command.

Hope this information helps you, let us know!

Thanks Raj,
Following your 2nd suggestion I could get back my NotePad in accessories.
Actually NotePad had vanished from all my users account.
Any idea why it happened?
Regards.

It could be because of it has been removed from Default Users account. Try
putting the shortcut in All User's Accessories instead of creating it in
every setting:

Right-click on Start Menu
Choose Explorer All Users
Expand to All Users - Start Menu - Accessories - Create a Shortcut here or
make a cut paste.

That is all. It will automatically placed in Every Setting.
