I was sent a photo with an extension of ".mix" From best
I can tell it is a product of Photo-It. How can I open
this file with conventional Win XP applications?

Your best bet would be to have the sender resave the
file in a different format like .jpg and resend it.

..mix is native to Microsoft PhotoDraw and Picture It!.
If you have MS Office, try it in some of those programs,
Publisher, Word, etc.

If you do not have those programs available, you might
try downloading PolyView...it will open most .mix files.
