I have given up on Vista and have tried to re-install Win XP Prof but, after
a clean installation I lost my Internet Web all together does Vista leave a
foot print in the mother-board? and if it does how can I erased it?

Are you installing the XP version of the driver for your network card and
the driver fails?

The operating system would have to flash the BIOS in order to do what you
suspect. That would not be tolerated. No your problem likely has to do with
drivers for your network card. You should located the model number for your
motherboard and do a search for XP drivers. If the computer is new and came
with Vista preinstalled then you may have to do a bit of searching to find
XP compatible drivers for it. If you have trouble post the make and model of
your system and someone can likely locate them for you.

No, windows Vista does not write to the motherboard. Sounds like you
have to zero your drive.
