Re-installation Problem

Following a format and re-installation of our secretaries computer, at the
log-in screen, the login name default is always Owner. Using REGEDIT, I
verified that the Owner name should be "Terri", any ideas on how to fix the
problem?

Quoting from this article:

http://www.microsoft.com/resources/...xp/all/proddocs/en-us/ua_c_account_types.mspx

"You might see an account with the name "Owner" when you first
log on. The owner account, with computer administrator
privileges, is created during installation if no user accounts
are set up at that time. You can rename this account with a
user's name."

The registry key you checked is an entirely different matter.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows
NT\CurrentVersion\RegisteredOwner

You have two options:
1. You can go into Control Panel -> User Accounts and change
the name of the account.
Note: This is a cosmetic change. You'd see the name Terri
displayed in various locations such as the Welcome screen.

2. You can create a new account named Terri and copy the Owner
profile over to the Terri account. Take a look here for the
procedure:

Good luck
