re-installation of device driver

I recently removed an isdn modem (Using the 'safely
remove hardware' option).

I am now trying to re install using an updated driver,
however when re-installing driver i get an error message
"cannot create device instance as it already exists"


HELP !!

Try booting to safemode and deleting all occurrences
of this device from the device manager.
