Re-install XP on a new disk

I have installed XP (and activated it) on a drive with the drive letter 'n:'.
I was expecting to be able to rename the drive to 'c:' later - but I now
find that this is not possible. If I re-install on a new partition (labelled
correctly this time!!), will XP demand that I go through the activation
process again and will I be able to do this??

Actually you should reinstall xp,use the default letter C:
You must of had other hds installed or formatted partitions active during
xps installation...

Make sure the partition you intend to intall-to IS the active partition, and
the disk it's on is first in the boot-order if there's more than one disk.
Failing to do so is how this situation comes about. Unfortunately once it's
happened there's no recovery.

You should be able to re-activate but it might involve phoning.
