Re-install XP Home

Following the rift between Microsoft and Sun Microsystems
in re. Java, I deleted a (poorly performing) applet
application from a web site and all of the Java files
downloaded/installed in my computer -- but must have
deleted some MS Java things too. Question is: can I
reinstall XP Home from the CD to fix the problem, or will
I create more problems in doing this?

When you run the setup program you can use the repair
option instead of install option. Repair will fix damaged
files without touching user settings and other installed
software.
