How to reinstall sp2? in winxp prof machine? My problem is I can't set up
dial up connection since I Restore my System. The option on dial up
connection is dimmed and therefore not available option anymore. Thanks to
one of our MVP that according to him this is a culprit. And to resolve the
problem is to re -install service pack2 on my machine. My question is how to
remove service pack2 on my machine? Thanks in advance for any one that can
help me.

You need to get a hold of the 'full' service pack, sometimes called the
'Network Installation Package', either on CD ( XP-SP2 is available on CDs
from several sources ) or as a large download:

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...BE-3B8E-4F30-8245-9E368D3CDB5A&displaylang=en

Burn the file to a CD, and run it on the computer.

Ignore this text:

"DO NOT CLICK DOWNLOAD IF YOU ARE UPDATING JUST ONE COMPUTER: A smaller,
more appropriate download is now available on Windows Update. The best way
to ensure you get Windows XP Service Pack 2 is by turning on the Automatic
Updates feature in Windows XP today. "

It's misleading to the point of being wrong.
The full service pack is required to perform a re-load of the service pack.
Trying to use the WindowsUpdate 'piecemeal' version of SP2 will fail,
because it will think that SP2 is already installed.
The 'full' version of any SP is the only way I ever apply service packs.
