can't configure xp to see web

I'm using netgear WLAN router and 3 PCs, one XP Prof, one XP Home and one
Win98. The XP Home was previously using a Voyager USB modem and AOL to
connect. I have uninstalled AOL and the Voyager. Now I have set up the router
to access Plus.Net and am using wireless adapters on all machines. The XP
Prof can access websites, so I know the router is set up correctly, but the
XP Home fails to display any. I have run the Internet Connection set-up
wizard a number of times, telling it to ignore disconnected adapters (there
is an unused NIC). I can ping the router's address successfully, and indeed
can see the router's login page from the XP Home machine. I have deleted all
other dial-up connections. Any Ideas what I can do to resolve this,

I dread to think what I'll come up against as I set about the Win 98 Machine.

Can you ping a public IP? If yes, can you ping yahoo.com? Or posting the result of ipconfig /all here may help.

An update i've sorted the problem: It seems that AOL has messed up the
winsock I found that I could renew it using the dos command:

netsh winsock reset

This sorted it

Thanks for your interest
