I have windows ME with an upgrade to XP. I'm starting to
have problems after kids put innumerable games on my hard
drive. I'd like to start over. All I have is the
upgrade to XP, so will I have to restart with the ME
version and then upgrade the OS again? Will I need to
get a boot disk for ME, rather than XP since I only have
the XP upgrade disk...(ooh,my brain hurts)

Hello
XP upgrade has all the tools to do a full install, just boot from the CD and
it will walk you through the deleting and formatting of the harddrive, at
one point in the install you will be asked to put in an earlier version of
windows, this is the only difference between the full and upgrade versions,
restore disks will not work, be sure to backup all important info and unplug
everything except the Keyboard, Mouse, & Monitor before doing any major
install.
