You can't change the limit other than but using shorter addresses. Try
putting some on a CC line.

Also note that some mail servers refuse mail with too many addresses as a
spam prevention technique. You can't control that either.

if you don't require a mailto link for business reasons (i.e. so anyone can
use it), you can semi-automate a mail merge, which is the preferred method
of sending group mails.

email in outlook with bcc fields, that don't suffer from this limit?

I have a web page with a mailing list attached to a mailto: link. It
works
for sending to up to about 40 recipients, but if I try and send to any
more
it won't work. I've been told this is a problem with the length of
mailto
links that outlook can accept.

Is this true? If so, can i increase the limit? If not, how can I go
about
acheiving the same result (opening an email from a webpage with a long
list
of recipients.
