Hi all...
I just got a message saying I need to reactivate my XP Pro because my
hardware had changed so much since I activated it. Other than replacing a
hard drive and adding a graphics tablet, I don't think much else has changed
on it.
Is this a legit message, or some ploy by someone other than MS to get my
personal info?
It says I have 3 days to reactivate; I would appreciate some help ASAP!
Thanks again!
John

Activation doesn't send any personal info, and besides if you think about it,
the OS could do that anytime you're online if it was programmed to,
activation or no.

The time I'd start worying is if it keeps happening. But that's not very
common.

The message is legit. If you don't reactivate within 3 days you will be
locked out of the pc except in safe mode.
