Re-activating Vista

I really have two questions.

1. I have a Sager NP8790 laptop that had a hard drive go bad. I'm
installing new hard drives and re-installing Vista on the same laptop. Will
Microsoft charge me to re-activate Vista if using on same computer.

2. Also, if I purchase new product key online for my desktop, can I use the
same DVD to do the install?

Microsoft will not charge for a re-activation on the same computer, it shoudl
go fine however if you need to ring up to reactivate they will ask a few
questions of you to make sure you are only installing it on that machine etc,
nothing stupid, they just check for piracy reasons before they give you the
reactivation key, note that you will prob not need to ring up, I have had to
reactivate my vista a number times on my pc due to reinstalls and hdd
upgrades and such and it reactivated via the net perfectly.

As for the second question on using the dvd to install vista on your desktop
as long as you purchase a key, this is fine, the vista dvd contains all
versions of vista and installs per the key entered, as long as it is a vista
dvd and not a restore dvd you will be fine.
