RC1 Won't Install

I've posted this before, but got nowhere.
Does anyone have a solution to my (and others) problem, i.e. RC1
installation fails during the 'expanding files' stage at around 21-30%?
Every time without fail, whether it's a clean install or upgrade.
I've downloaded the ISO twice to make sure that was not the problem.
Very very frustrating!
Does anyone from MS actually look at these forums?

Maybe the problem arises in the way you burn the file into the DVD. It would
be better if you only use a 1x or a 2x speed while burning the file into the
DVD, for maximum quality.

Thanks for that, but I used x1 both times. Two different downloads.
Other people are having the exact same problem, but no-one from MS seems to
be present in these groups.

These are public groups, i.e., don't expect MS support here. You need to bug
your problem.

I've been trying to 'bug my problem' for a week now with no success.
It's clear that a lot of people are having the same issue. Strange that
no-one has come up with a solution yet.

I have the exact problem as you describe, even with the DVD MS sent me! Did
you find a way to fix it?

If so would you let me know? (e-mail address removed)

I had this happen to me, also. I changed the hard drive and
Vista installed without problem on the 2d hard drive.

Have you tried doing anything with your computer as far as removing
unnecessary devices, or loading some type of driver during the first part of
the install?

Before the install, are you doing a compatibility check and does anything
show up or do you get any messages about possible problems?

What type of Motherboard/chipset/processor do you have? Has the hard drive
been formatted earlier?
