RAS Issues (8015 and 8035)

I have just setup RAS on our server that is also the DC for the domain. I
have our firewall forwarding port 1723 to our DC with RAS installed. That all
works good but when a users connects remotely all the users on the LAN can't
get to any computers in My Network Places.

The server logs:

11:31:20 AM 8035 The browser has forced an election on network
\Device\NetBT_Tcpip_{DD3A719B-4B45-440E-9501-296C25CC4E9B} because the Domain
Controller (or Server) has changed its role

\Device\NetBT_Tcpip_{DD3A719B-4B45-440E-9501-296C25CC4E9B} because a Windows
2000 Server (or domain master) browser is started.

Information:
Windows 2000 Server
AD,DNS,WINS,DHCP

I have ran browstat on the DC and it is the Master Browser. I have also
changed the ISDomainMaster to TRUE on the Domain Controller.

Any help is appreciated.

this is a perfect example showing the issue of running VPN on a DC. To fix this issue, you may modify the server configuration by following this link.

Robert,

Thanks for your fast reply. So is it best to setup RAS on a member server? I
don't really have a member server that I can use for RAS. I do have a
secondary DC that is just a backup for the primary server.

Thanks again for your help.

The browser problem is caused by having two interfaces with Netbios over
TCP/IP enabled on the DC.

Have a look at the section near the end of KB 292822 dealing with this
problem.
