random back tab

when typing in Word or Outlook (2002) I frequently get a back tab after
typing the letter "y". Happens approximately 95% of the time. An thoughts?

on the left of the screen, if you're using the web interface I'm
familiar with).

You may also want to check the automatic spelling correction, and try
borrowing another keyboard to see if it's just a mechanical problem.
