I have an athlon 2500+ and my ram is not showing up...

I have 512 DDR 400 but only 256 of the 512 shows up?
 
Does it show up in the BIOS when you boot the machine? If not, try
reseating the memory. Otherwise you might have bad memory chips.
 
How is the 512 configured, 2-256 modules or some other
combination? Reason being certain motherboards limit the
total number of modules that can be used. If you have 3-4
slots and more than 2 are used you may have reached the
limit and the motherboard is ignoring the extra modules.
