Ram Showing

When i boot my system first screen i see a Ram count "i have 2GB / 2048MB Ram so why does the count on the screen go above the amount i have, is the Motherboard chip included ? "i have wondered this for some time", any advice appreciated, thank you

using Everest my system shows

Physical memory 2047mb

Swap space 3941mb

Virtual memory 5988mb

So I'm guessing that your motherboard chip is showing in yout figures . Its only a guess though .
