>>RAM Question<<

I've just bought a new motherboard and processor and have installed a stick
of 256MB in my system.(MK8M800) In system properties it's showing 192MB. In
'BIOS' AND Belarc, it shows the 256 is 'physically' installed but 192 is
registering. I've heard of >video< taking up a portion of the memory but have
never noticed it personally. I'm wondering if this is an example of that. The
video card is intergrated... if that makes any difference or not.

Would anyone have any insight for me on this topic? If the 64MBs of RAM is
not going towards the graphics, would anyone out there know what exactly is
happening with my remaining 64??

This is almost certainly a case of video-shared RAM with the integrated
video taking 64K. To check for sure run, the Everest diagnostic
(downloadable from lavalys at

Motherboard>memory should show 192 meg since the video memory is assigned at
the bios level and becomes invisible to the system after that..
