Raid setup

Hi All
I am trying to setup a raid setup on my DFI Lanparty 865PE Board PC.
I know absalutly nothing about it.
I need some good liturature to read so i can learn how to do this
I tried by reading the manual i got with my board but made no headways.
I got the raid driver in device manager through setup of windows , created a
raid set acording to the raid setup bios.
Windows booted up , got to the desktop, thought i would reboot once more to
see how it came up, but never booted again.
Had to go back to my old SATA hard drives and regular windows.
Pc wouldn't reboot with the raid drives hooked to board so had to diconect
them to get back to windows.
Don't know where i went wrong.
Can someone give me a good site to read up on raid.
Thanks

Change the RAID setup in the BIOS to 'type data only' Non
bootable. Use the setup utility for your motherboard, and
format the raid drives (both low-level and high-level).
Start the computer with one RAID drive connected, and let
the system detect the presence of the RAID system first (
this alters the main C-drive OS). Restart as necessary.
I cannot help more than this. Do a search using google for
RAID primers.(or RAID for dummies if its your first time).

Raid setup can be difficult, however, not to difficult, you have a silicon
image raid chip, that a good place to start(silicon image), next are you in
the Seattle , WA area?

Hi Rho
I live in the midwest. Up in the sticks in Minnesota. Cold country, -6
degrees now.
Thanks for the come back, I did finally get my raid setup up and running,
boots up every time now.
But i don't think it is working right yet,i set up raid 0, says it is useing
2 drives. (the 2 80 gig drives i set up for it).
But it is slow, seams slower copying files from DVD to my documents then
regular setup.
More research i guess.
Thanks again
