Raid O-SATA and Win Xp pro

I have both my SATA disk's set up in a Raid 0 and
everything works great.
I have a third disk to keeo my Ghost images in case of
failure as a redundancy.
My problem is that when I install a new driver or update
from Microsoft(when on Raid) it will not boot properly.
I must boot from the redundant disk install the update
then copy over my array for it to work.
Has anyone had this same problem or know why the updates
wouldnt install correctly while on the Raid 0?
