Raid-0 setup on A8V Via or Promise?

I am looking to setup a Raid 0 array using 2 - 120G Western Digital drives.
Is there any advantage (speed, reliabality) to using the Via controller over
the Promise controller or should I use the Promise over the Via. I will be
partitioning the 240G array into 3 partitions, with the main partition as my
boot drive. I will then be putting a single 160G Western SATA drive on the
other controller as a backup data drive. Also as another question is the any
advantage to using a seperate 10/100Mbps Ethernet Adapter over the onboard
Marvell 88E8001 controller? Any help would be appreaciated.

computer specs:
Windows XP Pro SP1
AMD 3500+ 64 bit
1 Gig Cosair XMS Cas Latency: 2-2-2-5
evga Nvidia 6800 GT
Soundblaster Audigy 2
Plextor 712A DVD
Lie-On DVD ROM
Antec True430 Power Supply

I've only used the VIA controller so I can't say which would give you faster
results but I will say this... if you use the VIA then you can disable the
Promise, but to my knowledge this doesn't work the other way.
