Radio buttons

I have written a spreadsheet (mostly) but am stuck on how to set up radio
buttons. I have 6 main categories each of which have 4 sub categories. The
user is to select ONE sub category of each main category. I want to assign
a numerical constant to each radio button then have Excel add them up to
give me a total.

The adding up (once I have values) is easy (obviously) but I have no idea on
how to set up the radio buttons, assign a constant to them or extract that
data. I assume that each set of buttons within each main category needs to
be grouped (not sure how to do that either) so that they work as a unit.

Am I asking way to big a questions here? Like is this a days worth of
tutorial??!!

Ian,

Use the forms toolbar.

Grab a Group Box control from that tool,bar and draw on your worksheet.

Then grab a radio button from the same toolbar, and place within the Group
Box. Repeat for however many in your group.

Next, select all of those radio buttons within a group, right-click one of
them, ctrl-click the others, and then right-click the group and select
Format Control from the menu. On the Control tab, choose a cell to link them
to. Exit.

Now if you click any radio button within the group, you will see any
previously selected go off, and the number in your linked cell will reflect
the button selected.

And repeat per group.
