Radeon AIW 9800 Pro Availability

Anyone seen the Radeon AIW 9800 Pro for sale? I've checked Best Buy,
Circuit City, CompUSA and the mail order shops and nobody has them
yet. ATI's web site says they started shipping 2 weeks ago. I really
want one of these cards, so if somebody's seen them anywhere I'd
appreciate a heads up.

Well, I sell custom-made computers with the Radeon series graphics cards,
and have had a lot of requests for the new AIW 9800 Pro. None of the
wholesale distributors have them in yet, although D&H Distributing did put
the card on it's line card yesterday, but with a current status of
"backordered." Since Best Buy, CompUSA, etc. all get their cards from the
same wholesalers as we do, everyone's basically indirectly at the mercy of
ATI. My best guess is that you'll start seeing the card available online at
different resellers' sites early next week, then they'll probably start to
trickle into brick & mortar stores the week after. Only an educated guess,
though.
