Radeon 9100 + 3DMark2003 = dismal results

For the second & third graphic tests, the frame rates I got on my
system (Athlon 2500+, Radeon 9100 64MB DDR, 512MB RAM) are in the
single-digit range.

I know the 9100 is nothing to sneeze at nowadays but it is not exactly
low-end either. Is there something wrong with my setup? Do games these
days really require that much firepower?

(the results with 3DMark 2001 are much more respectable; I think the
score was around 8000+).

The problem is that the 9100 is nothing more than a rename of the
8500. It's not a DX9 compliant chip which is why it will get dismal
scores in 3DMark03 compared to true DX9 compliant cards (such as the
9500, 9600, 9700 and 9800 products).

I have a 2400+ w/ 1 gig of pc2700 + a radeon 9700pro retail!!!! and
experience slowdowns to single digit numbers in both nature and the
one with the girl and sword against the beasties...more importantly,
what is your score on pcmark2003...I run about 4750...in pcmark 2001 I
was seeing scores above 12000! Not great, but respectable from what I
have seen for a non oc system!!

Botom line, I love the system and am not a hard core gamer.....the
radeons have beautiful rendition in both 2d and 3d and the Athlon
gives alot of bang for the buck! I use it on a 19" Princton DVI input
LCD monitor and all I can say is whoooaaa it is pretty!

Being a hardware junkie, I am awaiting the crop of 64 bit processors
and Mobos for the AMD chips!
