QuickTime movies in Powerpoint 2000

I tried inserting a QuickTime movie into a Powerpoint (2000) presentation and it told me that either QuickTime was not installed correctly or the file is "non-standard". The help file suggested I download a suitable filter
Is it possible to insert this file type
Where can I find a filterif this is what is required
