Hi
I consider myself pretty good at solving frustrating computer problems but
have one that is beating me. Basically the sound in my Quicktime movies has
stopped working. If I go to the movie trailers on the quicktime site the
quicktime window opens and the movie starts playing with perfect picture but
no sound. But the rest of the sound on my computer is fine, eg the system
sounds and playing music with Windows Media Player. If I go to another site
where I used to watch movie clips that used to open in quicktime they now
open up in Media player and the picture and sound is perfect. I know all
about file types etc but my daughter likes watching the movie trailers on
the Quicktime page and they always open up in Quicktime with no sound. I
have tried uninstalling Quicktime and reinstalling. I have even tried the
Quicktime Alternative player with the same result. I have also tried
reinstalling the latest direct X. My sound card is a Creative Audigy 2 and
as I say the sound is fine apart from the quicktime player. It was working 2
days ago and as far I know nothing has been installed or any changes made. I
do not have a system restore point before this date for some reason.
Thanks for any help.
