I am using Quicken on XP Home operating system and when I
try to download transactions from my online banking
service Quicken shuts down. The download works correctly
when the operating system is in the safe mode?

Any ideas?

Have you run One Step Update to get the latest version (Revision) to
Quicken?
Look at the Event Viewer and see if there is an error message. If so, look
at the Intuit site FAQ and try to match it.
Since it works in safe mode, I would suspect a software conflict.
Try starting normally, then turn off as many processes as possible (AV, Pop
up blockers, recording software, etc). See if it will complete the download.
Then start adding processes back in one at a time until Quicken fails.

If you just connect to the internet, not via Quicken, does this still
happen?

Any error messages?
