Quicken data base

I am looking for a program that will convert quicken data files into text
files. From there, I can write a VB program to write checks out of that
file.

Glenn,

I do not know of a program - others may. I use a cheap ($25 but not freeware
so a bit off group) program called QuickCheck. Works great. Here is quote
from doc:

"What is JareWare? The underlying principles at JareWare are to create
simple programs that perform a specific task well, and to produce high
quality software that makes life easier. Isn't that what computers are
supposed to do, anyway?

What is QuickCheck? QuickCheck is a companion product toQuicken by Intuit.
Though QuickCheck was specifically tested with the latest versions of
Quicken (version 8 for DOS, version 4 for Windows), QuickCheck should work
with earlier versions of Quicken. QuickCheck enables the user to print on
virtually any type of check with any type of printer. This software is
geared for the home or small business user. QuickCheck can print on the
checks you now use; no special checks are needed."

They do not have a website and last address I had was (e-mail address removed) if
you are interested.

Colonel Blip,

I thank you for trying to help. I now use a check printer program that is
supposedly integrated into quicken but isn't.

Others fault you for trying, I don't. At least YOU tried. Isn't that the
main purpose for these forums? Yes, yes I know, it isn't a forum.

BTW, I inadvertently deleted this file with some things I wanted to save on
it. I had to go back over 12,000 posts to recover what I wanted. Going
through and deleting garbage, ie, complaints about others posting, consisted
of 1/3 of the posts.

Thank you NoWay, that is the one I'm using. It really runs independently of
quicken in that you still have to enter the name (albeit it will generate
it's own name list once the name is used) and manually enter the dollar
amount.

I have touched base with it's author and he has no plans to integrate it
further at this time.

Hence, if I could read the qdb qel files, I could write my own version.
