Quickbooks and Logon Failure

We have QB installed in a multi-user environment. We have created an account
for users to log on to QB with (this special user account provides admin
privileges when in QB which you need to be able to log on); we configured the
advanced option under QB/Properties to open the account with different
credentials; they then enter the special account and password. We have QB
installed this way on several computers with no problems. I installed QB on a
workstation and when a user tries to open QB on this computer they get this
error message:

"Quickbooks Application Error- Logon failure: user account restriction.
Possible reasons are blank passwords not allowed, logon hour restrictions, or
a policy restriction has been enforced." The user can log on to the other
computers normally just not this one. Can anyone tell me why and what I can
do to correct?

Thx!

QB is a proprietary software with specialized
security and encryption encoding and requires
their assistance for the fatal errors. It might
be you need to buy another license.....

hi, thanks for replying to my post. we haven't exceeded our license
capability and i did call a month ago regarding licensing relating to another
incident. i was told we could install it on more machines than we have
licenses but that the maximum number of users logged on could not exceed our
licensing. plus, the same users are able to log on to other computers with no
problems; that led me to believe that it was a computer-specific problem.

it's likely to be something related to group policy settings in winxp pro.
i don't use that o.s. but if i remember, the settings and lifting of any
restrictions
can be changed check out the admin tools for the group policy or something.

but it may be a new user account needs to be setup on the pc
and qb reinstalled under that account.

you are pretty darn close. I'm bummed that i didn't think of this and had to
ask my network admin (I'm new to network admin and sometimes think i'll never
remember it all!). The user account we created for our qb users to use to log
on to qb with was indeed prevented from logging on to that specific computer.
I just had to go in to ADUC and add that computer to the user account's list
of computer's to log on to.
