Quick Question on Driver Upgrade

Have an AIW X800XT using original software that came on CD
(older video driver, not sure what version but at least a
year old), and MMC 9.06.

I'm happy with the current version of MMC, but just want to
update the video drivers to Catalyst 6.2. My question is:
DO YOU HAVE TO UNINSTALL/RE-INSTALL THE DAO FILES WHEN JUST
UPDATING VIDEO DRIVERS?

Based on the info I can find on ATI's "Driver Install"
instructions, it seems I should do the following, but not
sure about the order, to just update the video drivers:

1. Control Panel/Add-Remove Programs
2. Remove Catalyst Control Center
3. Remove ATI Control Panel
4. Remote ATI Display Drivers

5. Re-Boot

6. Install Catalyst 6.2, this is the 35 meg file called:
6-2_xp-2k_dd_ccc_wdm_enu_30152.exe.

The ATI web site says you should also uninstall DAO.
However, it only says to INSTALL (or re-install) DAO if you
are installing MMC, like MMC 9.13. I'm not planning on
doing this. Again, only want to update the drivers, and the
Control Panel and Catalyst.

So, can I NOT mess with removing the DAO files in Add/Remove
Programs, since I'm not installing MMC?

Thanks for any help/advice.

Thanks for the tip. It worked. I was able to uninstall
(from Add/Remove Programs) Cat Control Center and Display
Drivers.

Then, re-booted, ran the install for CAT 6.2, and the
install went just fine.

Didn't mess with my MMC 9.03 installation. I'm keeping this
one, and not upgrading to MMC 9.13, until ATI fixes the
TV-ON-DEMAND problem, where you can't shut it off, or
prevent it from ALWAYS recording to the hard drive, then
having to manually locate and delete the files it saves.

At least I know I can keep my video drivers updated. Thanks
again.
