Quick question about changing e-mail providers

D

Dee

I am currently using an Earthlink business acount for my
e-mail hosting and have my accounts set up in Outlook
Express. I am switching to a new e-mail provider through
a local hosting company. Need to make sure I don't lose
any old e-mails in the process.

My understanding is that Outlook pulls e-mails from the
mail server and stores them on your hard drive. If that
is the case, then even if I canceled my old e-mail
account, I should be able to retrieve my old e-mails
through Outlook. Is that correct?

Thanks in advance!

Dee,
Yes they are stored on your hard drive

For outlook, they are stored in a pst file. For outlook express they are
stored in dbx files.

Cheers.

(They will be there if you remove the email account and add a different
one!)
