Quick Parts Dissappeared after closing application

Hello

I am creating quick parts in word. Save them. Open my outlook, use word
editior and use the quick parts. Works great. BUT
PROBLEM: after i close the outlook, re-open it, try to look for quick parts
"it not there anymore). samethings for MS-words. I have installed Service
pack 2, Re-name the .dotm using office 2007 on XP. Need serious HELP. Thank
you

Exit Word and Outlook. Then locate and delete the Building Blocks.dotx file.
Restart Word. Does this make a difference?

It did not make any difference. I re-installed office 2007 and that did not
solve the issue. Any other suggestions will be appriciated.

Re-installing rarely achieves anything useful as most problems concern the
user settings which are retained over a re-install. Rename the data key in
the registry
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Word\Data to OldData
Ensure that you have no conflicting add-ins and ensure that you have removed
any orphan temporary files

Thanks Graham

I do not see any conflicting issue with Add-ins or any temporary files. The
problem occurs with OUTLOOK word edit. Do you think it has to do with any
outlook profile settings or is there any patches i have to install. I am not
sure what exactly am I looking for but trying out different things may help.
Any other suggestion will be appriciated.

The Outlook 2007 editor is a subset of Word - for Outlook questions you
would do better asking in an Outlook forum however Quickparts in Outlook are
saved in the NormalEMail.dotm template. Check for an orphaned lock file for
this template when Word and Outlook are closed. If that doesn't fix it
rename NormalEMail.dotm to NormalEMail.old and allow Outlook to build a new
one.

Graham,

I was useing quick parts in outlook email. but it is a word editor. so i
post it in word forum. I re-named NormalEmail.dotm to .OLD then re-opened
the word, I restart the PC. it created .dotm file, I add a quickparts and
saved it. after I close it and re-open it QuickParts is not saveing. Same
issue. any other suggesting you may have. Thank you much....

The Outlook 2007 editor is not Word - but a Word-like editor that is a
subset of Word. Ask in an Outlook forum.
