hello All.
I am trying to help my girlfriends brother (in another state) fix his
computer.
he tried installin Media player 10 and it messed up his computer (looks
like a virus). I suggested putting in the XP home disc and use the
repair option. That was working well till it asked for an
administrative password, he entered his normal windows logg in password
but it was incorrect.
Is the admin password something different that your normal logg in
password? He only has one profile setup.
I suggested to resinstall and fresh copy of windows, that should while
installing see that he already has an installed version of windows,
delete it and install a new one?
also if installing a fresh copy is the best way when doing that will it
delete all the files kept in My Documents, My music etc? or just the
windows folder?
thanks for the help
