You can create a shortcut by r-clicking the item in your start Programs many
and selecting "Send to Desktop(create shortcut). To increase the size of the
quick launch bar, r-click the taskbar and unlock it, move your cursor to the
little bar to the right of the QL area. You will see the cursor turn to a
double headed arrow. Click and drag the bar as far right as you want and
then drag the desktop icon you created to the QL. Adjust the little bar as
close to the new icon as possible and then relock the task bar.

Drag any existing program or shortcut to the Quick Launch - a shortcut will
be added.

As for view - I have my Quick Launch bar along the left side of my screen.
Drag it's handle and move it up. I then set it on small icons, no labels,
and size it to be a little over half an inch wide which gives me two
columns. I can fit about 60 icons on it this way. (If you only need half
this many, size it for only one column.)

Yes and Yes.

There is a Windows Explorer shortcut in Programs - Accessories. Just
copy it (Ctrl - Drag) to the QL area and drop it there.

As long as your Toolbar isn't locked, and the QL area is left of the
Taskbar (not on top), there will be a vertical separator between the
two. You can drag the separator bar left or right to contract or
expand the QL area.
