Quick Launch Icons Not Working

Can anyone tell me how to get my quick launch icons working? The icons that
are in the taskbar occasionally stop working. When this happens, if I click
on the icon I get it's properties page instead of it launching the
applications. The only way I can fix this is if I reboot the computer. Any
suggestions?
