Quick Launch icons get jumbled up

I have over 140 icons in my Quick Launch tray and, once in a while, when I
boot, they are all jumbled up. Is there a way to keep them in the same
order I want them (or, better yet, is there a simple way to put them back
where they were)? I know I can use System Restore - but, as just happened,
I uninstalled Diskeeper - then rebooted. This time, the icons are all
jumbled up and I don't want Diskeeper entries put back in my Registry.
Thanks........

140? I keep about 20 in there. Any more than that, I think I would switch
to using the start menu, desktop folders with groups of shortcuts or custom
toolbars. Anyhow...

Using just Windows, I don't know of any way to force the order of the icons
in Quick Launch. They tend to shift around into alphabetical order now and
then and need to be reorganized if you do not like the order.

This workaround may make all of those icons more manageable for you. And if
the icons slip out of order, they will be much easier to rearrange.

Custom toolbars: Create a folder (anywhere, does not have to be on the
desktop). Place a group of shortcuts in it. Right click the taskbar and
select Toolbars> New Toolbar. Using the controls in the window that
appears, select the prepared folder and it will added to the taskbar as a
toolbar. Right click in a blank area to tweak the toolbar's appearance to
your liking.

Repeat the steps for each toolbar (group of icons) that you want available
on the taskbar.
