Quick Launch Disappears after restart

When I restart windows, the quick launch tool bar has
vanished and the box to enable it under taskbar
properties has become unchecked. This started happening
about a week ago,I have scanned for viruses, clean, and
can't think of what might be causing this. I downloaded a
browser, recommended by PC World- MyIE2, tried it and
uninstalled it and that seems to be when the problem
started. I have no other issues with the computer. Anyone
know what to do to fix this? Thanks!
