Quick launch disappearing after Reboot

P

PerfectReign

My quick launch area disappears after I reboot. I am on a domain account,
logging into an NT domain. (We should be moving to active directory any
time....at least maybe...)

Having googled this, I found that some had the registry key in
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogin\Userinit not set
to the correct value. I have:

C:\WINDOWS\system32\userinit.exe,

In addition, I've run SpyBot S&D and AdAware and I almost never use IE to
browse the internet.

Ideas?

Hi there PerfectReign,

Try this:

Run 'Regedit'. Browse to the following registry location:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\software\microsoft\windows\currentverion\polices\explorer

Locate the Registry entry 'NoSaveSettings'and double-click to bring up the
'Edit DWORD value' diaglog

Change the 'Value Data' from '1' to '0' (i.e. where 0 = Explorer Settings -
including Quick Launch Settings - are saved)

Close Regedit

Ensure that the Quick Launch Toolbar is displayed (Right-click anywhere on
the toolbar to bring properties and check 'Show Quick Launch Toolbar'.

Restart the Computer

Let me know how it goes!

Best Regards,

~Will
