Quick Launch disappeared

B

Ben

I was adding and deleting shortcuts from toolbar and all
of the sudden, all of my quick launch icons disappeared.
I've tried selecting "show quick launch", but it doesn't
work. I rebooted, and that didn't work either. What's
going on?

Try using System Restore to take you back to a time before this happened.
Start\All Programs\Accessories\System Tools\System Restore.

In the future, when adding something to QuickLaunch, right click drag it to
QuickLaunch, when you release the mouse button, select "copy here" from the
context menu instead of just dropping things on the QuickLaunch taskbar or
selecting "Move Here." Using Copy Here should prevent you from having this
problem in the future. There's a bug in QuickLaunch that can cause this
type of issue.

just replace the icons....they are just static links to
the actual programs. you can even add links to dialog
windows like display properties. even notepad can be an
icon in the quick launch area. others can be diskcleanup
and defrag and mediaplayer. good place for money icon.

having the links in quick launch keeps the background
clear and helps keep the start menu small.

limit the size of launch area and overflow stuff appears
on popup menu.
