If there's no bar to grab you may have to right click in the taskbar
area and deselect "Lock the Taskbar". Then you can stretch the taskbar
area to fit all your icons.
An alternative that many people don't know exists: drag the Quick
Launch folder off the task bar entirely and dock it on one of the
other three sides of the screen (make sure the task bar isn't
locked first).
This provides a lot more room for icons without decreasing the
available taskbar space, and works well on systems running at a
reasonably high resolution (1024x768, or better 1280x1024).
