I have several severs from Server 2000 to server 2003 running iis5 and iis6.
The servers are built identical with software they only have the OS, IIS, and
the .NET framework. Ever so often users are unable to access web sites on the
servers via their browsers http://servername/webapp but if you remote
desktop to the servers or physically go to the servers you can run the web
apps. I was wondering if anyone else ran into this and if so whats the cause
of this and the fix?

have a look at IIS logs see if the requests are coming in first.

if not then look try and ping the servers.. you might have dns server
problems...

what does "can not run" mean? I mean do they get the "can not find page"
error or some error within your site?

it's DNS entries error issue. they keep changing or get removed. How can we
prevent that from happening?

how are the dns servers configured... i am not very good at active
directory + dns server (have just played around with it on my network at
home) but i think you need to configure the dynamic zone updates right or
the forward look up zones.
