Question regarding TrendMicro Housecall

I've been trying to use Housecall to scan my PC. After starting the
application, and right after the animated map of the world, my browser
closes down. Has anyone else had this happen?

Haven't tried it lately, but do you have an up to date antivirus program
on your computer?? If not, you probably have a virus. They tend to
head directly into shutting down any antivirus sites so you can't get
rid of them.
